Michael Saylor-led Stategy (MSTR) yet again topped up its sizable bitcoin

holdings last week, adding an additional 1,045 BTC for $110.2 million.

The average purchase price of this latest buy was $105,426 each and the average purchase price for the company's 582,000 coin stack rose to $70,086 each. With bitcoin trading at about $107,500 Monday morning, MSTR's holdings are worth roughly $62.5 billion.

Last week's buys were funded via at-the-market sales of MSTR's STRK and STRF preferred stocks, according to an SEC filing.

MSTR stock is higher by 2% in premarket action as bitcoin rose from Friday's close in the $105,000 area.

topped the $110,000 mark for the first time since June 11 after more than $407.78 million flowed into U.S.-listed bitcoin spot ETFs on Wednesday and before a key U.S. jobs report due later in the day.

BTC's upswing brought cheer to the broader market, lifting major tokens such as XRP

, ether, SOLand ADA. Standout gainers were memecoins BONK and FARTCOIN, which boasted 24-hour gains of over 20%, a sign of increased investor willingness to take risk. The CoinDesk Memecoin Index gained 12.6% while the CoindDesk 20 Index of the largest tokens rose 4.3%.

Traders are looking toward the U.S. nonfarm payrolls data due for release later Thursday while maintaining the constructive outlook.

"The historical high of around $112K, set at the end of May, may be tested for strength or updated before the end of this week, given the fairly high risk appetite in global markets. However, it is worth remembering that the monthly U.S. employment report, due later Thursday, could serve as both a catalyst and an insurmountable obstacle," Alex Kuptsikevich, chief market analyst at the FxPro said in an email.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has often taken a cautious stance toward crypto. However, Paul Atkins’ recent remarks mark a notable shift in tone. Speaking directly on CNBC, Atkins emphasized that “tokenization is an innovation”, dismissing the notion that it is merely a loophole to circumvent securities laws.

This comment comes at a time when numerous financial institutions are experimenting with blockchain technology to tokenize traditional assets — such as private company shares, credit, or real estate. The goal is to unlock greater efficiency, 24/7 settlement, and broader access to investment products.

Atkins made it clear: “The SEC should focus on how we advance innovation in the marketplace.” He pointed to past agency behavior as overly dependent on enforcement rather than proactive rulemaking, acknowledging that this has often created uncertainty for builders in the crypto space.

A New Direction for Crypto Oversight

Moving Beyond Regulation by Enforcement

The Chairman’s remarks signal a clear intent to replace the “regulation by enforcement” model with more transparent frameworks. Atkins stated that innovation has often been held back by unclear regulations, but those days are coming to an end.

He suggested that by providing definitive rules and eliminating ambiguity, the SEC can encourage responsible development of blockchain-based financial technologies.

Valuations are tricky,” he said, suggesting that if tokenization accomplishes anything, it’s just shifting those risk valuations around.

Atkins said the SEC continues to be driven by its fundamental elements: protecting investors, encouraging capital formation, and maintaining fair and orderly markets. Accelerating blockchain innovation, these goals hold, the methods by which they are reached are changing.

Notably, he emphasized that tokenization should be used more to enhance market infrastructure — in areas such as settlement speed, security and cost efficiency improvements — rather than to directly port over risky products into digital form.

He highlighted the shift to T+1 settlement in U.S. equities as a major modernization step, and said tokenization could drive even greater improvements in how trades are finalized and assets are held — potentially offering real-time settlement and global interoperability.

SEC Chairman Declares Tokenization as Innovation Amid Crypto Rule Reevaluation

Crypto trader and analyst Ali Martinez is warning that Bitcoin (BTC) could undergo a significant correction amid a bearish signal from a reliable indicator.

Martinez tells his 139,100 followers on the social media platform X that the Tom DeMark (TD) Sequential indicator is suggesting that Bitcoin could fall by over 63% from the current level.

The TD sequential indicator is a technical analysis tool used to determine potential trend and price reversal points.

“This one indicator has predicted every major Bitcoin crash and it just flashed again. The Tom DeMark Sequential just gave a quarterly sell signal. This is a rare warning that has historically preceded brutal drawdowns.

Back in 2015, the same signal appeared and Bitcoin dropped 75% after. Then in 2018, same setup, same outcome – Bitcoin plunged over 85%.

Now it is flashing again. If this plays out like before, Bitcoin could drop below $40,000.”

Bitcoin is trading at $107,850 at time of writing.

Citing data from the blockchain analytics platform IntoTheBlock, Martinez says that between May 22nd and June 29th, the number of Bitcoin transactions valued at more than $100,000 has fallen from 30,840 to 16,860, a drop of around 45%.

The crypto trader and analyst also cites data from crypto analytics firm CryptoQuant suggesting that buyer interest for Bitcoin over 30 days has plummeted by 36,988 BTC.

“Apparent demand for Bitcoin has dropped to -37,000 BTC, signaling a sharp decline in buying interest!”

Trader Issues Urgent Bitcoin Alert, Says BTC Indicator That’s Predicted Major Crashes Is Flashing Red – Here Are His Targets

Bridgewater Associates founder Ray Dalio says that America is going to be forced to deal with its soaring debt problem.

The billionaire tells his 1.7 million followers on the social media platform X that the US will likely lower interest rates and print money to address the nation’s ballooning debt obligations.

However, he warns that such measures are not very effective.

“When countries have too much debt, lowering interest rates and devaluing the currency that the debt is denominated in is the preferred path government policy makers are most likely to take, so it pays to bet on it happening. At the moment of my writing, we know that the projections are for big deficits and big increases in government debt and debt service expenses ahead…

I also shared last week why I believe the political system in the US won’t be able to get its debt problems under control. We know how debt service costs (paying back interest and principal) will grow rapidly to squeeze out spending, and we also know that, at best, it is highly doubtful that there will be an increase in demand for the debt commensurate with the supply that needs to be sold. I laid out in detail what I think the implications of all this are in ‘How Countries Go Broke,’ where I offer a description of the mechanics behind my thinking. Others have stress tested it, and thus far there has been almost total agreement that the picture I am painting is accurate.”

Dalio believes the US will eventually have to both cut spending and raise taxes to save itself from the looming fiscal crisis.

“There is no way that the deficit/debt bomb problem can be sustainably dealt with unless there is a mix of tax revenue increases and spending decreases that are determined in a bipartisan way. Our representatives in Washington, D.C., both Republicans and Democrats, know this is true. They understand the need to reduce the deficit by having those from both sides chip in a bit (e.g., a 4% increase in tax revenue and a 4% spending cut) which would lead to a supply/demand balance improvement for US debt which in turn would lower interest rates.”

Billionaire Ray Dalio Says US Government Will Be Forced To Deal With Incoming ‘Debt Bomb’ – Here’s How

JPMorgan analyst Kenneth Worthington reportedly expects the stock of the New York Stock Exchange-listed stablecoin issuer Circle (CRCL) to fall by double-digit percentage points after a nearly 6x rise in less than a month.

According to Bloomberg, Worthington has set a price target of $80 for Circle, about 56% below the current price.

The JPMorgan analyst reportedly says the biggest threat that Circle, which went public on June 5th, faces is competition as more firms prepare to issue stablecoins.

Worthington says,

“We are witnessing the launch of tokenized deposit accounts, digital money market funds, and a host of new entrants looking to enter into the digital dollar market. The risk is that a few will succeed in taking enough share to reach critical mass in a business with low switching costs, allowing them to leverage the network built by Circle.”

Among the companies that are reportedly harboring plans to issue stablecoins are giant retailers Amazon and Walmart.

CRCL is trading at $182 at time of writing, up by about 487% from the initial public offering price of $31 but down by around 39% from the all-time high of about $299 reached on June 23rd. The stablecoin issuer currently has a market capitalization of a little over $40 billion and a price-to-earnings ratio of 234.

In contrast with JPMorgan, British multinational bank Barclays is reportedly bullish on Circle. Barclays analyst Ramsey El-Assal has set a price target of $215 on CRCL on the basis that stablecoins pegged to the US dollar are primed to keep growing as traditional finance (TradFi) embraces them.

JPMorgan Chase Predicts Massive Correction for Circle (CRCL) – Here’s the Bank’s Price Target: Report

Financial services giant JPMorgan Chase is reportedly looking to tokenize carbon credits with a trio of companies for a trial run.

According to a new report from Bloomberg, Kinexys, a blockhain arm JPMorgan, is teaming up with S&P Global Commodity Insights, EcoRegistry, and the International Carbon Registry to test a protocol that would tokenize credits listed in registries overseen by the firms.

The report says that Kinexys is exploring whether blockchain technology can be applied to regular activities.

In a statement, JPMorgan said that the tokenization of carbon credits could address current issues within carbon markets, such as market fragmentation, a lack of standardization, and transparency problems.

The bank went on to say that a system that would let credits be easily transferred between buyers and sellers could address these issues.

Carbon credits are permits that allow those who hold them to emit one ton of greenhouse gases and are intended to incentivize the reduction of emissions, such as carbon dioxide. They can be bought and sold through non-governmental voluntary markets.

In a previous report, JPMorgan said that the carbon asset class is “poised to mature as market infrastructure strengthens and innovation continues.” However, the bank also noted that if market infrastructure and innovation falter, so could trust and demand.

As stated by Alastair Northway, head of the natural resource advisory at JPMorgan Payments,

“Tokenization could support development of a globally interoperable system that adds confidence into the integrity of the underlying infrastructure. This technology could support greater information and price transparency, which could ultimately lead to greater liquidity in the market.”

JPMorgan Chase Exploring Tokenizing Carbon Credits on Blockchain in New Trial: Report

Fundstrat’s head of research, Tom Lee, believes that the S&P 500 will march to new record levels by the end of 2025 after brushing aside multiple shocks over the last few years.

In a new CNBC interview, Lee says the S&P 500 is in the midst of the “most hated V-shaped” rally after the stock market index recovered from a 2025 low of 4,835 to a new all-time high of 6,215 points.

According to Lee, many investors dumped their stock holdings during the market’s early-year decline, only to be left on the sidelines as equities staged a strong rebound.

“A lot of folks liquidated at the lows, but we know that whenever the VIX (volatility index) is above 60 and falls below 30, you’ve made a decisive low.

And now visibility is better, tariffs aren’t as bad as we expected, and the inflation impact has been very muted, and outside of tariffs, [underlying] inflation is much lower than people expected.”

Looking ahead, Lee believes that there’s no reason to be bearish on the S&P 500 after casting off five shocks in half a decade.

“I think there’s more upside to 6,600 [points] because the P/E (price to earnings) of the market can go up a lot. We already had five shocks. We had the Covid shock, the supply-chain shock, the inflation shock, the Fed-fastest-hikes-in-history [shock] and then we had the tariff shock.

So five shocks in five years, and earnings kept growing. If this was a stock, we’d say, ‘Look if you try to kill it five times and it still grew earnings, we would put a much higher multiple.”

As of Monday’s close, the S&P 500 is trading at 6,198 points.

, Ethereum, XRP, Solanaand Cardano, into an ETF through delegated authority — meaning the SEC's commissioners did not vote to approve the conversion, but rather agency staff gave the sign-off.

"This letter is to notify you that, pursuant to Rule 431 of the Commission’s Rules of Practice, 17 CFR 201.431, the Commission will review the delegated action," the letter said. "In accordance with Rule 431 (e) , the July 1, 2025 order is stayed until the Commission orders otherwise."

Any commissioner can ask that an SEC action be reviewed. In the past, commissioners have asked to review ETF disapprovals, for example.

SEC Halts Grayscale Large Cap Fund Approval for 'Review'

Hedge fund veteran Anthony Scaramucci reportedly says that the recent adoption of Bitcoin (BTC) in corporate treasuries is likely a temporary trend.

In an interview with Bloomberg, the SkyBridge Capital founder says he thinks the BTC treasury business model will fade away.

“Right now we’re having this replicative treasury company idea… So, you know, it will fade.”

The investor says that eventually, investors will begin to question why they’re paying a premium for a “middleman” to hold an asset when they could simply hold BTC on their own.

Over the last year, there has been a trend among corporations of accumulating Bitcoin, both as a savings mechanism and a strategy to convert their shares into proxies for investing in the flagship cryptocurrency.

Some of the recently launched BTC treasuries include Anthony Pompliano’s ProCap BTC, Grant Cardone’s Cardone Capital, Gamestop and Japanese hotel company MetaPlanet.

Other companies like Michael Saylor’s Strategy have been employing the same tactics for years. However, Scaramucci says he feels different about Strategy.

“Saylor’s case is different, because he’s got a couple different products going now… I’m not negative on the others, because I’m too bullish on Bitcoin, but I would just say as an investor, you have to look through the underlying costs associated with each one of these treasury companies…

“The question is, if you’re giving somebody $10 and they’re putting $8 into Bitcoin, are they going to do well? Yes. But you might have been better off just putting $10 into Bitcoin. I think that’s an issue.”

SkyBridge Capital Founder Anthony Scaramucci Predicts Bitcoin Treasury Trend ‘Fades Away’: Report

PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel and a handful of other tech billionaires are reportedly launching a new bank partially dedicated to serving crypto startups.

According to a new report from Financial Times, Thiel and other investors – such as the CEO of military contracting company Anduril – to create a bank called Erebor, which references to popular fantasy series The Lord of the Rings.

FT says the billionaires intend for the bank to serve crypto startups and take the place of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), a crypto-friendly bank that ended up going bankrupt in 2023. However, the Erebor plans to lend traditionally as well.

As stated by the bank in its public application to acquire the necessary licenses to operate in the US, according to FT,

“The bank will be a national bank… providing traditional banking products, as well as virtual currency-related products and services, for businesses and individuals.”

FT says the bank will focus on key industries, including artificial intelligence (AI), defense, manufacturing, digital assets as well as non-US companies looking to access the US banking system.

People close to the matter say that Thiel and others have been mulling over launching Erebor since the collapse of SVB, which was the go-to bank for crypto firms for many years.

According to the report, Erebor also said in its application filing that it would be looking to “differentiate itself” by serving those who “are not well served by traditional or disruptive financial institutions, in particular with respect to insufficient access to credit.”

Peter Thiel and Billionaire Consortium To Launch New Bank Serving Cryptocurrency Startups: Report

The research arm of a top crypto exchange thinks Bitcoin (BTC) could be losing momentum.

In a new research report, Bitfinex notes that BTC’s broader market structure remains healthy, with longer-term support levels still standing.

Current data, however, suggests the top crypto asset is heading into a transition phase, according to the exchange.

“Both order flow data and on-chain metrics are now aligning to suggest consolidation or a local top, rather than continued vertical acceleration. Spot volume has cooled, taker buy pressure has weakened, and profit-taking has intensified – especially among short-term holders who rode the move from sub-$80,000 levels.”

BTC is trading at $105,864 at time of writing. The top-ranked crypto asset by market cap is down more than 1% in the past 24 hours.

Bitfinex’s researchers argue that Bitcoin could witness short-term price upticks but will likely remain range-bound until it sees a significant surge in new demand.

“For now, Bitcoin is in a waiting game. Structural positioning remains intact, and there’s no major breakdown risk as long as $94-99,000 holds. But for new all-time highs to be reclaimed, a catalyst, either in the form of macro relief, strong ETF flow momentum, or a breakout in global liquidity, will be necessary.”

The analyst pseudonymously known as Rekt Capital tells his 108,000 YouTube subscribers that based on historical precedence, Bitcoin may reach a cycle peak within just a few months.

“If we’re talking about September, October, with it just being July now – July, August, September, and then October – that’s already two to three months, potentially, that we have left in this bull market.”

The analyst says that based on other market cycles, Bitcoin is probably about 88% of the way through its current bull run, meaning that risk is asymmetrically skewed to the downside for BTC.

“If we’re thinking about this being the entire cycle that we’ve already seen in terms of upside, from bear market bottom to bull market top, and potentially this additional upside, potentially over a period of two to three months extra, then it just showcases to us that maybe we have a very small sliver of time and price expansion left versus the price expansion and time that we’ve already seen elapse over the course of this cycle, which comes down to that 88% figure.”

Looking at his chart, the trader suggests Bitcoin may soar somewhere near $140,000 before reaching the cycle’s high.

Rekt Capital notes that some analysts are suggesting this cycle may be different from prior ones and run for longer, but such theories will have to be tested when the time is right.

Bitcoin is trading for $109,463 at time of writing, up 3.1% in the last 24 hours.
